Check out these great tips to help you connect with your customers.

Here are 10 tips to help you stand out at networking and vendor events.

  1. Make sure you have a banner, a backdrop, or large sign to display your business name. If you want to really stand out from a crowd, bring a branded canopy tent or flags for your outside events.
  2. Bring a ton of business cards. Check your inventory ahead of time and order more if necessary. Give one to everyone who comes to your table, whether they purchase or not. Lay them on your table and place in customers’ bags.
  3. Have a proper table covering. It’s better if it is branded, like a table runner or cloth tablecloth.  Avoid plastic tablecloths.
  4. Create a customer friendly display. Utilize your entire space and make it a mini store.  Think of a grocery store or high-end boutique. Use labels or branded bags for customer purchases.
  5. Bring pens and a notepad to collect customer information.  You can promote as a give-a-way for your table or use it to collect emails to grow your campaign list.  It can also be good to use for any customers you need to follow up with.
  6. Bring free samples.  Use all five senses.  Bring things for people to see, touch, taste, hear, and smell.
  7. Have a visible price sheet.  If you are selling products or services, make it easy for customers to see how much your items are.  Even if your business takes custom orders, have pricing available.
  8. Be prepared for various payment options:

    *Cash Box

    *Credit Card Reader

    *Cash App

    *Venmo

  9. Bring a phone charger and chargers for all electronic devices.
  10. You are your brand, so be sure to bring your A-game.  Have a positive attitude.  Wear branded apparel, comfortable shoes, and a smile.  Be prepared to stand most of the day and have the best customer service.
